World Economic Forum Davos 2016: Changes are not optional.

The WEF 2016 began in Davos, nestled in the Swiss Alps, today. Its main subject is “The Digital Transformation of Industries.” The President of the Swiss Confederation, Johann Schneider-Ammann, opened the WEF with a remarkable speech. His statement “Changes are not optional. They will happen whether we like it or not” no doubt also applies to the global healthcare industry. The megatrend of digital health, which is already a reality in the US, will soon also conquer the old world, i.e. Europe and, in particular, also Switzerland. It is now necessary to raise awareness for this development and to learn from those who have already gained operating experience in this area.

In Davos, mitten in den Schweizer Alpen, wurde heute das WEF 2016 eröffnet. Es steht unter dem Hauptthema „The Digital Transformation of Industries“. Der Schweizerische Bundespräsident, Johann Schneider-Ammann, hat das WEF mit einer bemerkenswerter Rede heute eröffnet. Seine Aussage „Changes are not optional. They will happen, whether we like it or not“ trifft ohne Zweifel auch auf das globale Gesundheitswesen zu. Der Megatrend Digital Health, in den USA bereits Realität, wird die alte Welt, also Europa und spezifisch auch die Schweiz bald ganz einnehmen. Es geht nun darum, die Sensibilisierung auf diese Themen voran zu treiben und von jenen zu lernen, die bereits operative Erfahrungen in diesem Bereich gesammelt haben.
